I’m back!

Just had the site renewed for another year! A really quick update too, I added a link to my Twitter. I plan to eventually integrate every social media site I use in widget form or maybe have a ticker on the side of my site. I also had to do a little(read very little, haha) coding to get the Twitter link to work, it felt good. I start working first thing next week too! I will be saving up my money until I can afford a new laptop and a copy of Photoshop. Things are starting to move forward and I’m really excited about it! Take it easy everyone, until next time.

Cheers,
-Joe

Quick Update!

Not career related, but, I’ll be interviewing for a customer service position with Apple on Thursday!  Once I nail the interview and start working, the first thing I’m doing, other then saving for student loans, and saving for my own place, is saving for a new laptop!  I may also be doing illustrations for a kid’s book for a friend.  I might post the short story she wrote, which she wants to turn into a book on here, with her permission of course.  Other then that, I’m going to start my next big project soon, beginning with concept art!  Take it easy everyone!

Cheers,

-Joe

Quick Update!

No sexy cave girl this time, just an announcement.  I’m going to retool my porfolio and sketches.  I’ll be putting my portfolio stuff into sketches and getting rid of what I have for sketches now and then some.  For however long it takes, I will strive to post awesome art!  Also, upload  my work step by step by using the concept art pipeline from the industry.  Take it easy everyone!

Cheers,

Joe

Update!

Everything is going along smoothly.  I still have a ways to go with value and light, but I’m getting there!  I just wish I had more time to work on this in the day.  Have a good day everyone, see you soon.

Cheers

Update!

Alright, I think I hit the nail on the head this time, heh.  I have the figure down, now I am working on the lighting and value of the piece.  After that, adding in base tones!  I am also going to start working on a mecha design and weapons, since I have none of those up here currently.  Multi-tasking!

Update!

After going over it with some fellow artists, I decided to change her posture, since it was off initially.  There was a lot wrong with it, but, it feels as though I have corrected quite a few things now and am now moving on to painting, lighting, and value, again.  Have to make sure everything’s perfect!

Cheers

Update!

After working on/fixing a lot of the anatomy/structure and adding base tones to everything, I am working on the lighting pass for Ali!  I’ll probably be working on lighting and value for a little bit to make sure I get it done perfectly!

Cheers!

Working on a new portfolio piece!

Its sort of a homage to two of my favorite artists, Dean Yeagle, and Frank Frazetta.  Its Yeagle in the line work and Frazetta in her outfit.  Also using Alison Haislip is head reference.  She’s supposed to be a little wild, so I’m going to need to muck up the hair a little and give her a scar or two, or just keep it as a beauty shot and throw her in a jungle background.  We’ll see where she ends up!  Right now, I just have the linework done, probably going to touch it up for another half an hour or so then move on to lighting and value!  Take it easy everyone!

Cheers!

New Sketch Up!

I just posted a new sketch in the sketch page.  Nothing fancy, just a gesture/pose drawing to help improve it.  I used a picture of Spider-Man for reference.  The color scheme is random; I just added it to make it more interesting then just line and toning work.   More to come!

Cheers,

-Joe
